It seems as most Generation Xers feel as the advent of the internet or a search engine such as google, has made the generation of millennials somehow stupider. This statement made by some of the older generations is completely refutable because of all the amazing educational advantages the internet can bring. Now the term education advantages is quite broad, what is necessarily meant by that statement is that you can literally find out anything by googling it. It can be steps to a math problem, how to program a computer, learn how to fix a car engine, etc. By having all of these information at your fingertips your own knowledge can increase by amazing intervals. Sure having google can also cause you to want to go look up other things such as entertainment, but the positives of such a service outweigh the negatives.

  1. I strongly agree with Connor's response. Google is an extremely effective and accessible resource. Within 10 seconds you can ultimately find any research or data you need to know. Generation Xers feel google is a distraction to our generation (which it can be) but do not understand the positives. You can now pay bills online, find recipes, directions and many more simple things within seconds. The advancements in technology and google has also increased our nations safety, education and transportation. In order to get full use out of goole, it is important to stay focused and achieve your goal. Besides getting distracted, google has had a positive impact on our generation.

  2. I totally agree with some of the points you both have made. Google is so helpful, and is always there for us when we need it. In ways, however, I feel like Google kind of hinders our abilities to stay focused. With all of the advertisements (that are targeted towards us), Google sucks you in when you're trying to find the answer to a math problem. Suddenly, you're browsing through your favorite clothing store online, and you haven't even realized that you're no longer looking at math problems. I think the internet in general can cause a great distraction, despite it's amazing capabilities. Overall, I feel that Google is far more helpful than it is not helpful.
