Why is there still so few Women in Science?
In this article titled, "Why Are There Still So Few Women in Science?" in the New York Times published in 2013, the author talks about how there is still a huge bias against women in the science fields. I just wanted to know what you guys think about why this can still be true considering many of the worlds greatest scientific breakthroughs have been found by women in the field.

Women and Science
http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/13/opinions/williams-ceci-women-in-science/
This article, "The myth about women in science," introduces the myth that on average, people are more likely to a hire a man than a women with the same qualifications. To see if this myth is true this article discusses a national experiment where they test this myth by testing 873 faculty members at 371 institutions in 50 states and to get rid of the sex bias, they created fictional candidate profiles identical in every aspect except for gender, and asked the factuly members to rank the candidates for a job. The results were very suprising.

Women and Science
In the past, women were intensely discriminated against in most academic fields. But now this has shifted as women are becoming actually outnumbering men in some fields. Yet in the STEM fields women seem to be lacking in numbers. This article from the AAUW explains how more women need to be steered toward the direction of STEM and they are saying it is just not a benefit for women. This benefit is for all people.

Technology and Totalitarianism
Technology becomes more and more advanced everyday. As it becomes more advanced are government becomes more unable to track people on it. Since the government wants control over its constituents it will do what it wants to control them. This also means that they will break laws to control us. They can say its for the means of security, but the government doesn't catch much people with the unlawful searches. These searches can only lead to more problems with our society and as citizens we have to wonder, what is too far?
Women in Science
This article discusses how Women have slowly started to become more active in science and technology. However, according to the author there is still room for more and he feels women can make their own unique impact.

http://science.sciencemag.org/content/291/5507/1304
A genome is an organism’s complete set of genetic instructions. Each genome contains all of the information needed to build that organism and allow it to grow and develop (yourgenome.org). This article discusses the possible genetic combinations for humans due to the number of chromosomes and different traits formed.
